The Washington County Chamber of Commerce announces that applications are now being accepted for the 2024-2025 Leadership Hillsboro program.

This prestigious program is designed to develop the leaders of tomorrow by providing an immersive experience that will help them understand the workings and intricacies of the Greater Hillsboro and Washington County area.

Why Apply for Leadership Hillsboro?
Leadership Hillsboro offers a unique opportunity for participants to enhance their leadership skills, gain in-depth knowledge of community issues, and build a strong network of informed and engaged residents. The program includes nine comprehensive sessions, starting with an all-day retreat, followed by monthly sessions from October through May, and culminating in a graduation event in June 2025.

Program Objectives:

  • Develop a comprehensive awareness of the challenges and opportunities within the Washington County/Hillsboro area.
  • Form a network of informed residents who are passionate about guiding the future of the community.
  • Strengthen leadership abilities through interaction and learning from other community leaders.
  • Educate and motivate participants to become more involved in community initiatives.

 

Eligibility and Selection:
The program is open to individuals engaged in various careers or endeavors who have an interest in community development and growth. Candidates will be selected to ensure a diverse mix of ages, professions, activities, and outlooks. Class size is limited, and selected candidates will be notified of their acceptance in mid-August.

Tuition and Commitment:
The tuition fee for the program is $995, which covers the costs of the retreat, graduation event, meals, materials, and group transportation. Participants are required to commit to attending all sessions, with a maximum of two absences allowed. The program begins with a mandatory retreat on September 11, 2024, and continues with monthly sessions through May 2025. A graduation event and Community Service Day will be held in June 2025. Graduates will then assist with organizing the next year’s sessions, ensuring a continuous cycle of leadership development.
