An important alliance between the Washington County Chamber and SBA to bolster local business growth and success
On October 17, 2024, the Washington County Chamber of Commerce (WCCC) and the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) officially cemented their partnership by signing a Strategic Alliance Memorandum (SAM) during a well-attended event at the Chamber’s office in Hillsboro, OR. This agreement marks a significant milestone in providing enhanced support for local entrepreneurs and small businesses in Washington County.
The signing ceremony brought together prominent figures from the Washington County business community, including Titonian Wallace, Sr., Chair of the Washington County Chamber’s Board of Directors, Beto Yarce, Regional Administrator for the Pacific Northwest SBA, and Martin Golden, District Director for the SBA Portland District Office. Deanna Palm, President and CEO of the Washington County Chamber, also shared her enthusiasm for the collaboration.
“We are thrilled to build on our relationship with the SBA through this Strategic Alliance Memorandum. Small businesses are a vital part of our economy, and this partnership will provide even more opportunities for our local entrepreneurs to thrive,” said Deanna Palm.
This partnership formalizes a closer collaboration between the WCCC and the SBA, which will work together to expand access to key resources, training programs, and services that empower small businesses to grow and succeed. The SAM is a commitment to providing local businesses with the tools and knowledge they need to overcome challenges and achieve long-term success.
The event concluded with a Q&A session, where attendees were able to ask questions about the partnership and what it means for their businesses, followed by a photo opportunity to capture the moment.
